Cryptozoic Entertainment announced the release of the Mighty Meeples: Ghostbusters Collection.

The tin resembles the Ecto-1, the iconic vehicle belonging to the Ghostbusters, and provides a stylish home for the six included Mighty Meeples figures, all depicting characters from the original 1980s Ghostbusters films. The five 1-inch figures feature heroes Peter Venkman, Ray Stantz, Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore, as well as popular paranormal antagonist Slimer. The sixth figure, portraying the enormous villain Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, is appropriately larger, standing 2.5 inches tall.

The Mighty Meeples can be collected for display or can replace pieces in any board game to upgrade the experience.

Cryptozoic Entertainment announced the early release of the card game Spyfall 2.

“Spyfall is a fantastic game that we were thrilled to release in 2015 through our partnership with Hobby World,” said John Sepenuk, Co-CEO of Cryptozoic Entertainment. “Spyfall 2 is the natural evolution of this award-winning series and we know it will be a must-have for fans of the first game.”

Spyfall 2 expands the first game, featuring 3-12 player capability, up to two spies, and 20 new locations. It is a standalone expansion, meaning players can play it by itself or combine it with the first Spyfall to make the experience even more complex and challenging. The game’s 20 new wacky locations include the Retirement Home, Candy Factory, and Prison. Players who get location cards also receive suggested roles for those locations that they can utilize for added fun. Whereas the first game only allowed for one spy and a maximum of eight players, the sequel increases the possibilities with up to two spies and 12 players.

3-12 players, ages 13+, plays in 10 to 20 minutes.

Alarm bells sound, but you don’t care: You keep piling wads of cash from the bank vault into your moneybag. Just a little more . . . The World’s Greatest Detective surely won’t arrive any time soon.

In Batman: The Animated Series Dice Game from Cryptozoic Entertainment and Steve Jackson Games, players attempt massive bank heists as classic Batman Super-Villains like The Joker, The Riddler, Catwoman, and Poison Ivy. How much loot can you grab before the alarm bells summon the Caped Crusader?

You can find it at your nearest local game store or select Hot Topic locations now!

This release comes from SJ Games and Cryptozoic Entertainment, in partnership with DC Comics, and it’s based on Batman: The Animated Series.

Roll and then re-roll the dice in this push-your-luck game – you want to roll moneybags, but you don’t want to roll Batman symbols. You are a criminal, after all! The evildoer with the most loot gets away; the Bat gets to the rest of ’em.
Each villain has a unique and diabolical ability. Customize your first roll as The Riddler, gain extra points as The Joker, grab more loot as Catwoman, or cleverly dodge Batman as Poison Ivy.

So if you plan to pick up this game, rest assured: Your evil plan is foolproof.

Poker Assault available now from Cryptozoic

Have you ever smashed your best friend with a Full House? Crushed a foe with a Flush? Made your mate irate with a pair of 8s?

The game you thought you knew has been re imagined as a game of combat, crafting killer hands, decisive moments, and non-stop fun with every turn of the cards!

Introducing Poker Assault from Cryptozoic Entertainment; All the excitement of Poker but with a combat theme, available now.

Take control of the mysterious and maniacal Invaders, the ferocious and unrelenting Wolf Pack, the elegant and vicious Vampire Court or the heroic aeronautical aces of the Rocket Patrol. Each team has its own custom suit theme and artwork. Play any deck versus any other deck, or even 3- and 4-player variants. While each deck is a legal 52-card poker deck, they are also so much more! Several cards in each deck have bonus abilities that can aid you while assaulting your opponent or defending against an assault. Additionally, if you can craft a Straight, Flush, Full House, or Four-of-a-Kind, you will earn an aptly named Power Card. These unique cards give you new strategies to pursue.

Chances are with your initial hand of five cards, you aren’t going to have much of a poker hand. But by playing only one card at a time, and drawing a new card from your deck after each play, you can slowly build up to something great. How great is up to how risky you want to get. Craft a hand of at least a pair, and your assault is underway! Now your opponent must block your cards using the cards in their hand. The defending player likewise plays only one card at a time and draws a card from their deck after each play. To block an assaulting card, match the value (2 to Ace) or play a card of the same suit (Heart, Diamond, Club, Spade), but with a higher value. Each assaulting card that gets through knocks your opponent’s hit points down by one. Bring your opponent’s health to zero and you win!

Designed by Ekaterina Gorn and Igor Sklyuev and adapting the art style from the 2016 reimagining of the video game, Master of Orion: The Board Game has been one of the most buzzed about games prior to and during this year’s Essen Spiel board game trade fair.

Mad Science Foundation card game released

July 26th, 2016

Cryptozoic Entertainment is pleased to announce the release of the card game Mad Science Foundation.

Mad Science Foundation is a dream come true for burgeoning megalomaniacs! 2-4 “scientists” vie for access to the building blocks of mad science, such as Lasers, Dark Matter, Cryptomium, and Sharks, from the appropriately named Mad Science Foundation. Using these precious resources, players must create outlandish inventions (complete with big red buttons!) that will allow them to glorify their own crazy genius. The winner is the one who achieves the most infamy!

Gameplay unfolds using a unique “I cut, you choose” mechanic. During each round, a player takes on the role of the Crooked Director, dividing resources for inventions into several piles. Piles are not created equally, with the Director player strategizing about what the others need and trying to keep those resources away from them. Each scientist then chooses a pile of resources, with the Director picking last. As play progresses, scientists use their resources to construct and activate devious inventions that can bring the world to its knees, including a Laser-Guided Sharkapult, Lunar Laser Cannon, or a Needlessly Complicated Booby Trap. In addition, Minions of various abilities can be recruited to aid a scientist’s nefarious cause, one round at a time. Scientists even have hidden objectives that are not revealed until the very end of the game.

In Mad Science Foundation, players use manipulation, backstabbing, and plain old evil to gain the infamy needed to become the greatest (or is that the worst?) mad scientist the world has ever seen!
