Nov 4, 2017

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Favor of the Old Gods, the fourth Chapter Pack in the Flight of Crows cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game!

The world of Westeros has been defined and shaped by religion. For much of the south, the faith of the Seven is professed—but in the north, the Old Gods still hold sway. The ironborn worship the Drowned God, and the fires of R’hllor are spreading from Essos across the Narrow Sea. Whether held devoutly or used as a pretense for power, these religions have a profound effect on the game of thrones and those who play it.

In Favor of the Old Gods, you’ll find the continuation of the Flight of Crows cycle—drawing players deeper into the events of A Feast for Crows with cards that feature the bestow keyword or reward you for forging alliances between factions. This pack also features an assortment of cards with traits such as Old GodsThe Seven, or R’hllor, hearkening to the many religions that have played their roles in the tumultuous game of thrones. From a new agenda evoking the mystical powers of the greenseers to characters like Selyse Baratheon and Ser Balon Swann, this Chapter Pack has plenty to offer for every faction.

Pledge Fealty to House Tyrell in Game of Thrones TCG Expansion

Oct 31, 2017

Across the verdant stretches of the Reach to their stronghold at Highgarden, House Tyrell holds sway over the south of Westeros. Their title as Wardens of the South gives them command over a quarter of the realm’s armies… but their stranglehold on the Seven Kingdoms’ primary source of food gives them power that stretches far beyond their military strength. When observing House Tyrell, a cunning duality slowly grows apparent. On the surface, a veneer of honor and chivalry buys them the love of the smallfolk and the naïve—but beneath the ephemeral petals, you’ll find the iron-hard thorns of deadly schemes and plots.

Now, you can pledge your fealty to House Tyrell and call your banners alongside them with the House of Thorns deluxe expansion for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, now available at your local retailer! With this expansion, House Tyrell rises to the top with a massive influx of new characters, locations, attachments, and events, including new versions of iconic characters like The Queen of Thorns, The Knight of Flowers, and Margaery Tyrell.

Though House Tyrell justly receives the bulk of the new cards in their deluxe expansion, they’re not alone. Every other faction receives two new non-loyal cards, and fittingly, the Maesters of Oldtown receive several new neutral cards in this expansion, including their own agenda, The Conclave (House of Thorns, 45).

October 2, 2017

A kingsmoot has not been called in hundreds of years. But in the Iron Islands, the tide is changing with the mysterious death of Balon Greyjoy and the sudden return of Euron Crow’s Eye. The Drowned God roils in his watery halls, the ironborn return to the old way, and the first kingsmoot in centuries has been called. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Kingsmoot, the third Chapter Pack in the Flight of Crows cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game, now available for pre-order at your local retailer!

In the tradition of the other Chapter Packs of the Flight of Crows cycle, Kingsmoot contains sixty cards (three copies each of twenty distinct cards), offering brand-new cards for the eight factions of A Game of Thrones: The Card Game. Sept 10, 2017

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Journey to Oldtown, the second Chapter Pack in the Flight of Crows cycle for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game!

Little is certain in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Lives are ended with a stroke of steel and mighty strongholds are brought crumbling down into ruin by sieging armies. In such a dangerous and changeable landscape, it seems impossible that something as fragile as a dream could long survive. And yet, a dream—of power, or wealth, or love—may be all that keeps the players of the game of thrones moving forward. Now, you can pursue some of your own dreams with the newest Chapter Pack for A Game of Thrones: The Card Game.

Journey to Oldtown, like The Archmaester’s Key before it, focuses on amplifying the major themes of the game’s fourth cycle. While it continues to follow A Feast for Crows, this cycle brings new strength to the bestow keyword and provides incentives for the factions to forge alliances and band together. Along the way, you’ll encounter a host of iconic characters and locations entering the game, including The House of Black and White, Thoros of Myr, a new version of Arianne Martell, and a lord of House Botley, Tris Botley.

July 11, 2017

The Wars to Come expansion for The Iron Throne board game is now available at retailers from Fantasy Flight Games.

With its two new Houses and twenty-five game-changing allies, The Wars to Come brings more players, more intrigues, and more betrayals to your battles for the Seven Kingdoms.

Based on HBO’s award-winning Game of Thrones television series, The Iron Throne challenges you to outwit and outmaneuver your rivals. You send your leaders to meet each other on the field of battle, you make alliances with other Houses, and you break those alliances. In the end, there’s only one thing that matters—your place atop the Iron Throne.

Now, with the addition of House Greyjoy and House Martell, The Wars to Come allows you to enjoy these contests with as many as seven players. But it’s not just the size of the game that changes; you’ll find that these Houses also permit more scheming, more uses for your hostages, more aggression, more trickery, and more of all the carefully constructed chaos that makes both the game and the HBO series so fantastically absorbing.

A Game of Thrones Catan Announced by Fantasy Flight Games

July 4th, 2017

Fantasy Flight Games is excited to announce A Game of Thrones Catan: Brotherhood of the Watch, a standalone game of resource gathering and trading based on the classic Settlers of Catan. The battle to defend the Realms of Man begins in this new strategic game grounded in the engrossing world of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fireseries and adapted for Catan by Klaus and Bejamin Teuber.

The Brothers of the Night’s Watch seek a new leader from among their ranks. Jeor Mormont wishes to promote one who can improve the infrastructure of the Gift, the bountiful and undeveloped area south of the Wall bestowed to the Watch by the Starks thousands of years ago. Drawing sustenance from the unforgiving landscape of the north offers enough challenges, but whomever takes up this task must also man and defend the Wall against the onslaught of Wildlings fighting their way into Westeros. Many brothers now compete to build, defend, and do what they can to protect Westeros, but only one shall rise above their brothers to become the new Lord Commander. But be wary—the north holds many dangers, and winter is coming.

cn3015_sample

House Stark bestowed the Gift to the Night’s Watch when the Order was first founded thousands of years ago. By right, this area belongs to the Watch to supply provisions to the stalwart brothers who guard Westeros from the north. In game, each of these areas supplies one of five resources: lumber, brick, wool, grain, and ore. The barren Ice Fields, however, produce nothing.

Players take on the role of Brothers of the Night’s Watch and use these resources to strengthen their hold on the north by building roads, settlements, and keeps; recruiting guards for their patrol; or buying Development Cards. Each of these acts bring players increased power and recognition through the awarding of victory points. The objective will be familiar to players of the original Catan—the first player to achieve ten victory points wins the game and becomes the new Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch.

But this is not as easy as it sounds; the area surrounding the Gift can be treacherous. Wildings from north of the Wall have crossed over, and follow their own rules of honor which often conflict with the laws of Westeros. One of their ranks, Tormund Giantsbane, does not respect the Watch’s claim to the land as he moves throughout the Gift, robbing resources from the Brothers sent to provide for their Order.
