August 6, 2017

August is an exciting month for Warpath fans, as it sees the release of brand new hard plastic vehicles from Mantic Games.

Whether it’s the Enforcer Interceptor soaring over the battlefield, or the heavily armoured Forge Father Sturnhammer rumbling across terrain; the introduction of vehicles promises to open up a totally new dynamic to Warpath.

These releases will be some of the most affordable sci-fi vehicles on the market, once again ensuring Mantic’s reputation for offering great miniatures at a fantastic price.

In Warpath, you take command of entire units, as you plan your tactics to claim strategic objectives and carve a path to victory! The game has been designed to play massive sci-fi wargames on an epic scale, with 100s of miniatures lining the tabletop, but the intuitive rules ensure gameplay is still exceptionally fast and fluid.

From August 4th, Mantic will be adding the following vehicles to its range:

Sturnhammer Battle Tank £24.99/€34.99/$39.99

Armed with a main battery of Heavy Hailstorm Cannons and clad in armour capable of withstanding all but the most powerful and well-placed blasts, the Sturnhammer inexorably carries the might of the Forge Fathers to war.

Drakkar APC £19.99/€24.99/$29.99

The Drakkar’s sloped, reinforced armour makes it one of the toughest troop delivery vehicles on any battlefield anywhere. With a Hailstorm anti-personnel weapon to discourage any assailants along the way, the vehicle is an extremely safe and reliable transport for platoons of Steel Warriors and Forge Guard.

Hultr Half-Track £14.99/€19.99/$24.99

Powerful engines and adaptable treads allow the Hultr Half-Track to react to the flow of battle fluidly, supporting the Forge Father lines with its Hailstorm or Magma Cannon.

Accuser Interceptor/Persecutor Bomber £24.99/€34.99/$39.99

The Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere’s most advanced military demands equally advanced air support. The Accuser and Persecutor wings fulfill this task faultlessly, claiming air superiority for the Enforcers below.

Arbiter Interceptor £29.99/€39.99/$49.99

The Arbiter swaps the Accuser’s Burst Lasers in favour of twin Polaris Cannons, delivering a heavy punch against armoured targets in swift ground-to-air strikes few enemies can counter.

November 16th, 2014

Mantic got their new Kings of War Kickstarter launched and it’s already fully funded and then some.

Kings of War is the two-player fantasy miniatures game where epic armies of brave warriors and devastating cavalry clash against powerful wizards and fantastical monsters – all on your tabletop.

As the general of a mighty army, you will build your force by collecting new units of troops – and lead them to battle using the game’s simple rules, seeking victory and the spoils of war!

This Kickstarter is to fund the 2nd Edition Kings of War Hardback Rulebook, a new tome that will build on the previous edition to create a bigger and better game.

It will include:

Enhanced Game Play – with improvements to the rules to improve the strategy, speed and simplicity in the game.
Refreshed Army Lists – all armies will be updated and rebalanced, and new units and new armies will be added to the core rulebook.
Fantastic New Art – an update to the art library throughout the book to bring the world to life.

and more!

Kings of War 2nd Edition grew out of gamer demand. The new rule set will allow you to play exciting games with huge armies – from start to finish in an evening. The background will let you engross yourself in the world of Kings of War and its history, and study your opponent’s force and the units at his disposal – so you can plan their defeat!

Humanity Resists expansion coming from Mantic

mars attacks humanity resists

November 12th, 2014

While the base Mars Attacks game is designed to be replayable and highly enjoyable, new expansions add even more!

The first expansion for Mars Attacks is Humanity Resists, which marks the first real fight back since the invasion began… and it’s coming this month from Mantic

The first wave of attack is over and General Tor feels that all he needs to do is finish crushing the last vestiges of Humanity. But Greenville is proving difficult, and the resistance is rising up to stop the forces who expected this small town to be just another stop on the route to domination.

With new 8 scenarios, a selection of great new characters like Agents Falco and Natalya, and new special rules, Humanity Resists furthers the story and the amount of replayability from your game.

The Humanity Resists book is included in a simple expansion box which includes a number of reinforcements for your Martian and Human Forces, including:

– 1 Martian Attack Saucer
– 1 Flatbed Truck
– 10 Novas Vira Resistance Soldiers
– 5 Martian Marines
– 5 Stealth Martians

The contents of this box are truly staggering. We have 20 more pre-assembled coloured miniatures, as well as 2 outstanding, easy to assemble vehicles.
Yet again going straight from the box to the table is yet another seamlessly easy process that gets you straight into the gaming action faster, letting you venture into the hobby side at your own leisure.

Personally, not only am i looking forward to the new scenarios, but im also looking forward to revisiting some of the base set scenarios. Being able to revist these with new models too add a twist will be great fun. It would be interesting too see how things would have turned out if the novas vira had just helped out humanity from the beginning, or if the martians had dropped a full brutal assaualt from day one.

One thing that stands out to me is the Martian Saucer. Nothing seems more satisfying than watching humans be reduced to molten slime by the sheer brute force of my Martian Heatray!
