Khurasan Releases Later 14th Century 15mm Sets

l14thc-maa-jupon-foot-1hw

August 8, 2017

Khurasan are very pleased to release six new codes for their 15mm later 14th century range, the first sets of men-at-arms on foot, and more sets of infantry.

As most men-at-arms fought on foot in this period rather than mounted, these releases permit the gamer to build the basic components of armies of the period — either an English herce (longbows flanking men at arms) or the French men at arms formations with crossbows supporting at a distance. In addition to the men-at-arms (these first sets are in jupons), they also have pavisiers, crossbowmen, and armed peasants. (Please note these are the larger “15mm” figures pioneered by Testudo which are now the size offered by several manufacturers.)

Available now.

New Warpath Vehicle Releases for August from Mantic

WP-Enforcer-Arbiter-Interceptor-WEB

August 6, 2017

August is an exciting month for Warpath fans, as it sees the release of brand new hard plastic vehicles from Mantic Games.

Whether it’s the Enforcer Interceptor soaring over the battlefield, or the heavily armoured Forge Father Sturnhammer rumbling across terrain; the introduction of vehicles promises to open up a totally new dynamic to Warpath.

These releases will be some of the most affordable sci-fi vehicles on the market, once again ensuring Mantic’s reputation for offering great miniatures at a fantastic price.

In Warpath, you take command of entire units, as you plan your tactics to claim strategic objectives and carve a path to victory! The game has been designed to play massive sci-fi wargames on an epic scale, with 100s of miniatures lining the tabletop, but the intuitive rules ensure gameplay is still exceptionally fast and fluid.

From August 4th, Mantic will be adding the following vehicles to its range:

Sturnhammer Battle Tank £24.99/€34.99/$39.99

Armed with a main battery of Heavy Hailstorm Cannons and clad in armour capable of withstanding all but the most powerful and well-placed blasts, the Sturnhammer inexorably carries the might of the Forge Fathers to war.

Drakkar APC £19.99/€24.99/$29.99

The Drakkar’s sloped, reinforced armour makes it one of the toughest troop delivery vehicles on any battlefield anywhere. With a Hailstorm anti-personnel weapon to discourage any assailants along the way, the vehicle is an extremely safe and reliable transport for platoons of Steel Warriors and Forge Guard.

Hultr Half-Track £14.99/€19.99/$24.99

Powerful engines and adaptable treads allow the Hultr Half-Track to react to the flow of battle fluidly, supporting the Forge Father lines with its Hailstorm or Magma Cannon.

Accuser Interceptor/Persecutor Bomber £24.99/€34.99/$39.99

The Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere’s most advanced military demands equally advanced air support. The Accuser and Persecutor wings fulfill this task faultlessly, claiming air superiority for the Enforcers below.

Arbiter Interceptor £29.99/€39.99/$49.99

The Arbiter swaps the Accuser’s Burst Lasers in favour of twin Polaris Cannons, delivering a heavy punch against armoured targets in swift ground-to-air strikes few enemies can counter.

Warlord Games Release New Models for Two Theatres of WW2 Bolt Action Miniatures

July 31, 2017

Warlord Games is releasing something from two different major theaters of WWII in the newest Bolt Action releases.

For the Pacific theatre, there’s the Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car, which has parts to make it run on both roads as well as railroads. In the European theatre there are several bundles for Warlord Games’ Operation Sea Lion and Operation Gigant supplements.

Taking over the Pacific is the Imperial Japanese forces, armed with the new Type 91 So-Mo Armoured Car.

Also referred to as the Type 91 broad-gauge railroad tractor, the So-Mo has the unusual distinction of being able to quickly switch from road to rail. The So-Mo and its six crew could achieve speeds of around 25 miles per hour on roads and almost twice that on railroads.

On the eve of the German invasion, the British and German forces finalise their preparations.

Tasked with defending Britain with everything it’s got, the BEF uses the LDV and their ingenuity to help stave off the German onslaught.

New Euro-Fed Spaceships Available From Brigade Models

ReleaseWave2

July 30, 2017

Brigade Models brought out the first wave of their resculpted EuroFed spaceships in time for Salute, but this only replaced a small part of the existing fleet. T

They have now re-released a pair of capital ships, new versions of the Liberté battleship and Cerbere light carrier. These two have changed in design more than some of the other new models, being based on a similar hull that has the same design styling as the Milano and Umberto. At the other end of the scale they also have the diminutive Comète starfighter, tiny but with an amazing amount of detail for something so small.

The release also includes a fleet pack containing a Liberté and a Cerbere along with escorts, fighters and bases.

SFS-400 – Liberté class Battleship – £6.00
SFS-411 – Cerbere class Light Carrier – £6.00
SFS-460 – Comète class Interceptor (pack of 12) – £1.50

SFSP-401 – EuroFed Fleet Pack #1 – £22.00

Hawk Wargames Announces Dropzone Commander 2nd Edition

July 24, 2017

Hawk Wargames is excited to announce Dropzone Commander: 2nd Edition!

The current Dropzone Commander system is highly regarded and we are working on bringing you a new edition that retains its excellent core mechanics whilst improving many aspects to reflect warfare in the 27th Century.

We are in the stages of alpha testing the proposed changes and a closed beta will also take place with our Hawk Talon scheme. We expect a release in Q4 2017 with a release date announced closer to the time.

2nd Edition will bring balance to existing units and enhance a player’s collection, not invalidate it. We want every unit to be playable. New units are in development which will be previewed over the next few months.

Beasts of War have interviewed Dave and they will have a video for you on Monday with more details including proposed changes and even more new artwork, including this incredible Archangel squadron!

Brigade Models Release New Austro-Hungarian Aeroef

ViribusHabsburg

July 23, 2017

As the next stage in the gradual resculpting of the Aeronef range, Brigade Models have released five new capital ships for the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Three of the models replace the existing battleship designs – the Erzherzog Ferdinand Max, Budapest and Szent István classes. All have new resin hulls with the customary collection of metal fittings – turrets, masts, funnels and tails.

The two new models are the Viribus Unitas dreadnought, which may be familiar to more venerable Aeronef gamers – long ago I wrote an article on our website about converting a Ferdinand Max model to the Viribus Unitas class by extending the hull and adding to the armament. This version of the Viribus is similarly an extended Ferdinand with an extra main turret. Finally, and largest of all, the Habsburg class utilises the semi-rigid dirigible hull of the Kaiserin class fighter carrier, but replaces the flight deck with a substantial mixed main battery, and the flank anti-fighter turrets are replaced by eight secondary gun turrets.

The three existing models are already in fleet packs, and we’ve created an extra fleet pack with a Habsburg and Viribus Unitas in, along with escorts. Although the older models are technically being retired, they’ll still be available to anyone who already has some and wants compatible models – just go to the page for the new versions and scroll down, then you’ll see a link allowing you to buy the old version.

VAN-704 – Erzherzog Ferdinand Max – £7.00
VAN-706 – Budapest – £6.00
VAN-708 – Szent István – £7.00
VAN-714 – Habsburg – £9.00
VAN-715 – Viribus Unitas – £7.50

VANFP-704 – Austro-Hungarian Fleet Pack #3 – £22.00

VANF-703 – Austrian Empire Flags – £0.50
