Blood and Water, the fourth Data Pack in the Red Sand cycle for Android: Netrunner is on sale now and introduces sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty unique cards) that explore not only the everyday hardships of life on Mars, but also the exciting new thrills that can’t be found anywhere else in the galaxy!

Life on Mars is defined by hardships. Mining accidents, radiation poison, and ancient grudges keep the life expectancy down. There’s simply not enough water to go around, and too much blood has been spilled over the planet’s red deserts.

An outsider—someone accustomed to the on-demand comforts of life in New Angeles—might expect to find the citizens of Mars downtrodden and depressed. But unless you’re actually two klicks deep in one of Whampoa’s infamous mines, you’ll probably see more than a few smiles on the faces of the Martians around you that could rival the famous grin of Haarpsichord’s latest star.

Martial Law data pack for Netrunner released

adn40_main

December 12, 2016

Martial Law is the fifth and penultimate Data Pack in the Flashpoint Cycle for Android: Netrunner, and it advances our understanding of how deeply New Angeles has plunged into chaos. Its citizens are trapped in their arcologies or huddled together in whatever safe places they can find. The city’s streets have become a warzone. The corps can’t or won’t restore order.

The time has come for the U.S. government to intervene.

Shock and awe are the order of the day in Martial Law. Starting with two new neutral currents, one each for Runner and Corp, the expansion’s sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards) are going to bring a new order to the world’s largest city—one way or another. But when this new order is established, who will be viewed as the winners? And what will they have gained?

New Angeles opens for business in the Android Universe.

Ready your android workforce. New Angeles opens for business this week!

Set in the not-too-distant future of the Android universe, New Angeles is the highly immersive board game of bluffs, bribes, negotiations, blackmail, and unfettered corporate greed for four to six players. You and your friends each take charge of one of the world’s largest megacorps, entrusted by your stakeholders with the sacred obligation to transform their unfathomable riches into even larger and more unfathomable riches.

The quest for capital is everything… but you’ll need to balance your immediate interests against the token efforts you’ll make to keep the city of New Angeles running smoothly. After all, the freedoms afforded to your corp—and the others—by the city’s Special Economic Zone must be protected. If the city were to plunge into chaos, the U.S. government might intervene. And that would be bad for your bottom line.

Which path will lead you to the greatest profit? Whatever course you follow, you will need to know when to strike deals, when to support other corporations, when to undercut your rivals, and when to put in a good-faith effort toward maintaining peace in the city. Balancing these matters will require a good deal of vision, and it also helps to have a firm understanding of the rules.

Station One data pack for Android: Netrunner coming from FFG

adn44_box

November 13th, 2016

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of Station One, the second Data Pack in the Red Sand Cycle for Android: Netrunner!

As the primary hub for Bradbury Railway Co.’s mag-lev inductracks, Station One is crucial to the distribution of food, fuel, and raw materials across the resource-starved cities and nodes of Mars. The Martian colonists scattered across the planet’s surface rely upon its supplies for their survival. The megacorps terraforming the planet—and increasing their control over it—view the station as a vital hub for their financial investments. And the opportunistic runners of Android: Netrunner? They see Station One as a tempting target through which all the secrets of Mars must pass.

But nothing on Mars is easy. If runners want to seize the data passing through Station One, they’ll need careful planning and even better programs. If the megacorps want to keep business running smoothly along the mag-lev lines, they must reckon with Clan Aeneas. And if ordinary colonists want to survive, they’d better pray they don’t get caught in the middle. The sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards) in Station One bring these tensions to the cratered surface of Mars, and it’s a dangerous place to be!

Daedalus Complex comes to Android: Netrunner

October 14th, 2016

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of Daedalus Complex, the first Data Pack in the Red Sand Cycle for Android: Netrunner!

After previous Data Packs have explored the game’s cyber struggles with the settings of Luna, SanSan, Mumbad, and a New Angeles wracked by economic chaos, Daedalus Complex and the Red Sand Cycle turn our attention to Mars. There, terraforming is already well underway, and millions of humans live alongside clones and bioroids in a handful of cities and nodes protected by transplas domes.

Still, life on the Red Planet is markedly different than life on Earth. It requires a certain ruggedness to live and work on a planet where simply traveling outside of the protected cities requires breathing assistance and protective gear. The shared hardships of survival have led to the de facto authority of the clans, and even though the Martian Colony Wars have ended, the tensions between the clans, the Martian Colonial Authority, and the corps remain high.

This is the volatile situation into which we are thrust by the sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards) of Daedalus Complex. Named for the site where the Martians have developed the foundation for a space elevator similar to the Beanstalk on Earth, Daedalus Complex takes us deep into the conflicts between corps, clans, and the MCA. What we find is that Mars very much remains a semi-lawless frontier… and one in which any given spark has the potential to ignite a much larger flame.

Quorum, the Flashpoint Cycle conclusion for Android.

adn41_box

September 23rd, 2016

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the upcoming release of Quorum, the climactic conclusion to the Flashpoint Cycle of Data Packs for Android: Netrunner!

Several of the worlds’ most influential business heads have gathered, along with their cronies, to shape the future of New Angeles. Tensions run high. But there’s work to be done. The U.S. government has threatened to strip of the city of its privileges as a special business district unless the Corps can restore peace and order…

Accordingly, at the end of a cycle full of desperate and violent Corps, Quorum gives us sixty new cards (three copies each of twenty different cards) that focus on getting back to business as usual. That means you’ll find the Corps investing in their futures, deploying advanced new economic operations, bribing powerful and highly connected politicians, and layering their servers with brand new ice.

It’s not just the Corps that are eager to end the violence and get back to business. Still, what you want to do and what you need to aren’t always the same thing. In the wake of the Twenty-Three Seconds incident and the ensuing devastation, you’ll still find the game’s Anarchs looking to burn things down, even as the Criminals double their efforts to work undetected. Finally, you’ll find the game’s Shapers up to new tricks—tricks that they are all too eager to start showing off…
