Dead of Winter: Warring Colonies Expansion Coming Soon!

May 3rd, 2017

We were suspicious when they arrived across town and set up camp, but we tried to live in peace. No more. They’ve taken too much from us. Too much that we can’t get back. It’s time for revenge. It’s time for war.

Coming soon from Plaid Hat Games, team up and battle your friends in the new expansion, Dead of Winter: Warring Colonies!

This expansion, designed by Colby Dauch and Timothy Meyer, is the ultimate experience for Dead of Winter, the quintessential post-apocalyptic game by Isaac Vega and Jon Gilmour.

Warring Colonies comes with a mountain of content, much of which supports the new team variant for 4-11 players, in which two colonies compete over the same locations for limited resources and power.

Dead of Winter Warring Colonies requires a Dead of Winter base set to play, and requires both Dead of Winter: A Crossroads Game and Dead of Winter: The Long Night to play the warring colonies variant and the lone wolf module.

Plaid Hat Games Introduces Crossfire, Available this Summer

March 21, 2017

Deception and Negotiation are your greatest tools. Complete your mission, no matter the costs.

Plaid Hat Games introduces Crossfire, a game in the world of Specter Ops, coming to your FLGS this summer.

Emerson Matsuuchi has partnered with Plaid Hat Games again to take players back into the dystopian struggle between Raxxon and A.R.K. This time, players will be competitng in two teams to either protect or assassinate a Raxxon VIP, while trying to determine if other players at the table are really who they claim to be, all while the clock is ticking.

In Crossfire, players will use deduction, negotiation, and the limited information at their disposal to determine who the VIP is. The agents have been tasked with defending the VIP from hostile attacks, while the Assassins try to ensure that the VIP doesn’t make it to their destination. To complicate things further, Bystanders are also present near the VIP, making it even harder for Agents and Assassins to know who the real threats are.

After 3 minutes, each player must make a call and aim their weapon. After all the shots are fired, if the VIP is still standing, the Agents win. If the VIP has been eliminated, the Assassins claim victory. Be careful, though. Any player who shot a Bystander by accident automatically loses the game. Additionally, other roles might have their own unique victory conditions, meaning you can never be sure of who’s really on your side.

There are many roles that can be added to each game for a more varied experience, as well as other game modes which we’ll explore in future articles. Crossfire will be available for purchase from retailers and our own web store this summer. Be sure to check back soon for more information! The clock is ticking, and Intel is limited. Complete your mission.

Well hello, everyone!

I know, I know, I KNOW it has been forever! Sorry to everyone that has been upset about the silence. Believe me, we didn’t want to keep quiet this long, but in order to get things figured out we had to keep details internal for a while.

We have been working with our new parent company – Asmodee – to bring you some new amazing stuff in the Ashes line. The transition has been going great! They have been so awesome and helpful throughout this shift. Everything that we have been doing is really helping to make Plaid Hat Games better, and we couldn’t be happier!

Fan: Enough of the Plaid Hat Asmodee romance… where are my cards!?

Ok, ok! Without further ado, here is what we can announce at this time:

These two Deluxe Expansion Sets are slated for release in late spring / early summer. They’ve also given a look at the new Dice and awesome Storage Boxes for your Ashes sets!

Each expansion features a ready to play thematic deck of all new cards. The growing Ashes fan base is ravenous for new cards to deck build with and new decks with new strategies to explore and these products deliver!
