Conan The Mercenary Available Now

Conan-the-Mercenary

Dec 8, 2017

Conan the Mercenary is now available as a PDF from Modiphius Entertainment.

The Hyborian Age is a time of incessant war. The armies of kings and queens cannot master the battlefield alone, and the task is left to those sell-swords who trade blood for coin. In Conan the Mercenary, the battle fields are yours to kill for, and to die on.

Join legendary mercenary companies, support revolts, or fight for the throne. It matters not the motive for war — gold is the wage for your blade. The jeweled thrones of the Earth tremble when mercenaries mass against them, and citizens pray to their gods when those selfsame killers are out of work and turn to banditry. In this age, the records of war and battle are mankind’s only testament, and names are written on the annals of history in blood.

Join your dog-brothers and sword-sisters on the fields of battle, and take your pay in gold and glory!

  • New archetypes, talents, and equipment, allowing you to create your own mercenary characters and companies, with all the skills needed to conquer your enemies!
  • A gazetteer covering locations in Conan’s world, where rulers attempt to take and maintain thrones, and mercenary armies are the forces that make the diff erence. Inside are detailed guides to Koth, Ophir, Shem, and Khoraja.
  • Learn the ways of the mercenary — sieges, battles… victories, as well as defeats — and the time spent carousing between.
  • Writeups for Conan the Mercenary, Tsothalanti, Pelias, Prince Almaric, Princess Yasmela, Thugra Khotan, and monstrous foes such as the Nightmare Mount, Iron Statues, and Satha the Old One.
  • An all-new system for mass battles! Command the very troops that live and die in the profession of arms.
  • Stunning art and maps, produced by world renowned Conan artists.
  • Developed with leading Conan scholars, this is war as Howard depicted it — savage, unforgiving, and heaped in both gore and glory!

100 Oddities For A Sewar Released by Skirmisher Publishing

Dec 6, 2017

100 Oddities for a Sewer”  is the eleventh entry in Skirmisher Publishing’s bestselling “100 Oddities” series of universal mini-sourcebooks!

Sewers figure in a lot of roleplaying games, especially those set in or involving cities and, from the lowly rat-slaying forays of fledgling heroes to quests against monstrous beasts that dwell within them, they can keep adventurers busy. They also can allow travel below, to, or through intervening places (including those you might want to visit even less than the sewer itself). They might also be a haven for criminal elements or street folk, or a hideout for those who cannot stand scrutiny by the light of day.

Sewers exist from age to age, and could figure in an ancient setting as easily as a modern or future one (heck, the same sewer might be found in all three). And, as far as post-apocalyptic setting goes, the sewer is often where all the best mutants hang out.

If there is any place that will have its fair share of oddities, therefore, it is a sewer, and they have provided 100 great ones for you here.

Save The Day Advanced Rulebook released for Save the Day Super Powered RPG

Save-the-Day-768x1146

Nov 29, 2017

The New Save the Day Advanced Rulebook is an attempt to expand the options available with Save the Day Super Powered RPG and let you create a character without the limits of Origin and Class.

This book also provides a system of tweaking existing powers to make them more individual and unique. Characters can be fine-tuned with Tweaks that broaden the powers available to players and GMs.

Rules are presented to help create consistent Gear and Vehicles as well as robots and hidden bases. Real-world examples are also described in game terms to help players and GMs better imagine the scale and range of the items described in the game system. This may contradict some of the examples available in the Basic Rulebook so use the Advanced Rules and the upcoming Gear books as a guide as they are more accurate. A discussion of Gear items as plot devices wraps up the Gear chapter.

Finally, guidelines for running more free-form “theatre of the mind” campaigns are presented to help you transcend the game table with only the power of your imagination to drive your story.
