Fantasy Flight Unleash the Leonx

Oct 7, 2017

The Leonx Riders Unit Expansion Is Now Available from Fantasy Flight Games for Runewars Miniatures.

Many Elves still see the Leonx Riders as little more than feral barbarians who have lost their connection to the teachings of Latariana and the Path of the Stars. Far from savages, the Free Hunters learned to temper their tremendous skill for hunting and combat with a deeper wisdom gained from their animal family. The mightiest predators killed only to survive, and the pack went to war only in defense of their own. Over time, songs were sung of the lost Latari children rescued from the wild by strange, feral elves, or even whole villages saved by elven nomads who could speak the tongue of animals. Nevertheless, some of the most prominent leaders of the Latari noble houses wished to exile these barbarians from their sacred forest. Shunned by the rest of Latari society, the Leonx Riders kept mostly to themselves and their pack, only making contact with the outsiders when offering aid.

Now that the Uthuk Y‘llan have come back from the brink of extinction, the Latari must turn to these once shunned nomads if they are to survive. As you prepare your Elven troops for battle, you may choose to do the same—the Leonx Riders Unit Expansion for Runewars Miniatures Game is available now!

Sept 12, 2017

Fantasy Flight Games is pleased to announce the upcoming release the Outland Scouts Unit Expansion for the Daqan of Runewars Miniatures Game!!

Among the distant villages across the back country of Terrinoth, and in the untamed woods that separate the baronies, men and women rise to meet the call of the Daqan and do their part to hold the line against the rising darkness. These simple folk rarely join the regimented ranks of spearmen or knights, but many isolated hamlets owe their continued existence to the vigilance of these scouts, who stamp out small dangers without ever being seen or rally garrisons to fend off larger threats.

As dangers grow in the East, the lords of Terrinoth’s baronies must call in their forces from even the most distant villages.

The Outland Scouts Unit Expansion includes eight figurines and two Plastic Infantry Trays to house them, as well as a collection of tokens and five available upgrade cards to strengthen your Daqan forces.

Fantasy Flight Games Announces the Reanimate Archers Unit for Runewars

rwm08_box_left

May 23rd, 2017

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Reanimate Archers Unit Expansion for Runewars Miniatures Game is available now!

The expansion features eight Reanimate Archer figures, enough to field a two-tray unit on its own or attach to a larger unit. These figures are identical to the ones found in the Runewars Miniatures Game Core Set and feature five new upgrade cards to help customize any army.

The Reanimate Archers are experts at ranged attacks, and the figures found in the Reanimate Archers Unit Expansion can be combined with the figures found in the core set to create a 32-point unit, or can be fielded on their own as an 18-point unit.

The arrows of the Reanimate Archers do more than puncture. They get inside their target’s skin, infecting them with rot and disease, represented by their ability to spend two surges to give their target a blight token when they make a ranged attack. Blight tokens can weaken opposing units by removing their die before an attack, and with the Reanimate Archer’s ability to add a free surge to their strikes with their modifier dial, it’s something they can accomplish often. Furthermore, the shambling bowmen are united in their service to Waiqar, and with the “Steadfast” keyword, it becomes difficult to shake their resolve with a doubt card during a morale test.

Fantasy Flight Games Announces Death Knights Expansion for Runewars

Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Death Knights Unit Expansion for Runewars Miniatures Game!

The Death Knights Unit Expansion features four Death Knight figures and two plastic cavalry movement trays for use with the forces of Waiqar, as well as five upgrade cards to customize your Runewars Miniatures Game armies. The expansion also includes panic, stun, and unit ID Tokens, alongside a new condition card and token, for use with a special new type of upgrade included with the Death Knights.

The Death Knights bring fear to all unfortunate enough to encounter them. Any time they collide with an opposing unit, the Impact keyword gives the opposing unit panic tokens equal to the number of stable energy runes on the field. Additional panic tokens immediately puts the Death Knights’ target at a disadvantage, and they’re now in position to be targeted by the Death Knights’ deadly melee attack—two red dice and one blue die.

The Death Knights also come with built-in defenses. Anytime an enemy unit targets them, a mortal strike is subtracted from the attack, which nearly ensures their hefty defense of three will have to be penetrated if the foes of Waiqar have any hope of taking the riders down. Furthermore, with the Steadfast [Fear] ability, the Death Knights are difficult to rattle, increasing the morale icon of fear cards by one during morale tests.

The figures and trays included in the Death Knights Unit Expansion can be fielded together for 24 points, and additional copies can be purchased to field 42 and 55 point units.

Fantasy Flight Games Announce Heavy Crossbowmen for Runewars

rwm20_spread

May 11th, 2017

Paragons of disciplined training and wielders of some of the most sophisticated military weaponry available, the heavy crossbowmen of the Daqan Lords represent one of the greatest defensive forces in Terrinoth. Armed with specially designed bulwark shields and heavy crossbows, these warriors can withstand even the fiercest hail of enemy fire while unleashing their own torrent of death. Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce the Heavy Crossbowmen Unit Expansion for Runewars Miniatures Game!

Proficiency with the crossbow is not enough to qualify for a heavy crossbow unit, as only the largest and most physically imposing men and women have the great strength and stamina required to reload the crossbows and wield the thick wood and iron shields that complete these warriors’ arsenal. These bulwark shields are designed to withstand vicious attacks from axe and arrow alike while still allowing a large crossbow to rest securely on its edge, mitigating any compromise to accuracy. These shields were designed to provide the protection an archer shooting from a tower’s bulwark would have, while allowing for mobility on the field.

Whether motivated by duty or coin, Heavy Crossbowmen are integral to defending the Land of Steel from the forces of darkness at its borders.
