Round Up Your Meeples and Conquer a Medieval Landscape – Asmodee Digital Releases Award-Winning Tile Game Carcassonne for PC, Mac and Android

Asmodee Digital, leaders in digital board game entertainment, today announced the Steam launch of Carcassonne, the digital version of the award-winning tile-laying board game, for PC and Mac, along with an all-new version of the game for Android mobile devices.

Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/598810/Carcassonne__Tiles__Tactics

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asmodeedigital.carcassonne

Carcassonne presents an all new, 3D version of the classic game. Two to six players take on the roles of founders of the region as they build roads, abbeys and cities in online asynchronous multiplayer gameplay.

Simple to pick up but challenging to master, the new Carcassonne presents players with endless opportunities for tactical play. Within minutes, players will find themselves in tough situations – determining where to put their last meeple, whether to use tiles to expand the city, or to hinder their opponent. Players place only one tile each round, and have the option to place one meeple on it. Each game develops differently, full of boundless possibilities, and the quick-fire nature of the game ensures that Carcassonne always runs at a brisk pace.

Launching today on Steam for PC and Mac, Carcassonne is available at the discounted price of $9.99 for a limited time and comes complete with two popular expansions – The River and The Abbot – to further enhance in-game options.

In addition, Asmodee Digital’s new Android version of Carcassonne has been released with exciting new features, including beautiful new artwork, 2D and 3D perspective, pass-and-play mode, updated AI (three different AI behaviors thoroughly tested by Hans im Glück: Easy Neighbor, Fierce Egoist, and Risk-Taker) and asynchronous online play (cross-platform compatible with Android and Steam), including ranked games and leaderboards. It will be available at the discounted price of $1.99 for the first 30 days after launch and comes with the The Abbot expansion.

The game will continue to be developed with already many projects underway:

  • Additional expansions coming after launch include Inns & Cathedrals, Traders & Builders and Princesses & Dragons.

  • For all the Carcassonne pros, a Champion AI will be released for free within the next few months.

Mysterium released for iOS, Android and PC

mysterium

January 14th, 2017

Asmodee Digital, an international publisher and distributor of digital games and Playsoft, a world-renowned game developer, have announced the release of Mysterium for iOS, Android and PC. Mysterium, winner of numerous awards such as the Golden Geek and As d’Or 2016 Game of the Year, has been captivating players since its tabletop launch with more than 300,000 units sold worldwide. Created by Oleksandr Nevskiy and Oleg Sidorenko and published by Libellud, Mysterium has become a board game staple in many households. Today, thanks to the brilliant work of Asmodee Digital and Playsoft, the mystery of the Warwick Mansion ghost comes to life on iOS, Android and PC devices in an accurate and beautiful digital adaptation.

Mysterium is a cooperative deduction game that challenges players to solve a crime that was committed on the grounds of Warwick manor. One player takes on the role of a restless ghost who is tasked with revealing the guilty character to a team of psychics. The other players make up this team of psychics, receiving visions and interpreting them to the best of their abilities in order to narrow down the list of suspects. But, the time is ticking—if players take too long to discover the truth, the bridge between the mortal and supernatural worlds disappears and the tormented ghost must sadly wait another year for its soul to pass on!

“Mysterium was born out of love for the dark and unsettling, which the paranormal world perfectly encapsulates” says Alexandre David, Asmodee Digital Product Manager. “Our aim was to create a flawless digital adaptation for the fans and at the same time devise a mysterious and brooding game with fun and excitement that everyone could enjoy.”

Mysterium allows players from all over the world to investigate together in multiplayer mode and cooperate through an in-game chat that enables fellow players to point out visual clues on a card. Players can also share their visions with other psychics and approve or reject their choices with clairvoyance tokens. In Mysterium, up to 7 players can join together for fun and engaging games. And for those who wish to enter the manor alone, a story mode offers players the possibility to discover the culprit, the murder location, and the weapon through a several hours-long investigation filled with exciting twists and turns.

Mysterium is available now on iOS and Android for $6.99 and on Steam for $9.99.

HEX Entertainment and Gameforge are now offering the trading card game HEX: Shards of Fate for PC on Steam.

The game is free and available for download in the Steam Store. It’s free-to-play with in-game purchases, like most Digital CCGs. Purchases are not required to complete card collections, they just speed up the process.

The game already has an excellent community, and sometimes veterans will give beginners a hand with their card collections. Gameforge is touting a different approach with HEX, marketing it as a MMOTCG (Massively Multiplayer Online Trading Card Game.) Elements of online RPGs are mixed in with traditional TCG play.

HEX: Shards of Fate offers the unique elements of an MMO, such as PvE campaigns, guilds and customisable Champions.
